Gregory Scott Walden, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on June 2nd, 2025 in Valhalla, New York. He was 39 years old.

Greg was born on May 9th, 1986 in Dallas, Texas to Diane & Terry Walden, and he was a big brother to his sister Allison Christine. He attended elementary school in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and in Brussels, Belgium. He graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in 2005 and went on to attend Virginia Tech University and the College of Charleston earning a degree in Psychology.

He moved to Brooklyn, New York in 2013, and started working at MakerBot where he met his future wife, Allison. They started dating on December 13th, 2013 (12-13-13) and they settled into Fort Greene Brooklyn, buying their first home together in 2018. They planned to marry on October 10th, 2020 (10-10-2020), but the party was cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. So instead, they bought a country home in Sparrow Bush, New York, off of the last stop on the Metro-North west of the Hudson. They finally married in their living room in a ceremony officiated by the New York County Clerk over the
internet on July 14th, 2021 (7-14-21).

Living upstate, Greg blossomed into a true outdoorsman, learning to swing a maul, chopping multiple cords of wood, making warm fires, plowing snow, and defending the property from the many bears, porcupines, and deer. They adopted two dogs and three cats (Wilson, Elsa, Greyson, Earl Grey and Lady Grey) before welcoming their miracle baby, Oliver Orson Orion Walden on October 21st,  2024.

Greg loved spending time with Allison, Oliver, and their many animals. He cherished their walks in the woods and took every opportunity to share the things he loved most with his son. Whether it was watching LOTR at Christmas, making his famously excellent pizza in the Ooni oven with his carefully perfected crust recipe, sharing his favorite DJs during morning dance parties, or lying under the stars pointing out constellations, Greg made sure to fill Oliver’s world with wonder, laughter, and love.

Throughout his life, Greg’s passion for technology drove him to contribute to a series of groundbreaking and innovative start ups, all united by a shared mission to make a meaningful, positive impact on the world. He made many friends and lasting contacts, always striving to make work more efficient and fun. Outside of work, Greg could always be found with friends, showing off his favorite bars and places to eat around NYC and the world. He was passionate about music, traveling, cooking, pizzas, coffee, whiskey, exercising, video games, sci-fi, craft beer, and optimizing everything in his life for maximum efficiency.

Greg lived in Dallas (TX), Houston (TX), Chagrin Falls (OH), Brussels (BE), London (UK), Charleston (SC), Denver (CO), Brooklyn (NY), Sparrow Bush (NY) and visited countries all over the world, too numerous to list.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife Allison Ryan, his son Oliver, and parents Diane & Terry Walden. He will forever be missed by his loving extended family of Aunts and Uncles (Mary & Pat Waters, Paul McHugh & Ann Garstka, Ginny & Pete Claffey), many cousins (Diana Davis, Kelly McIIvaine), in-laws (Priscilla Ryan, Vivian & Brandon Tokar, Chris & Sarah Ryan), and nieces and nephews (Brady Tokar, Evelyn Tokar, James Ryan, Catherine Ryan). He was preceded in death by his sister Allison Christine.
